Chromatic CRE
√ Chromatic CRE is intended as an aid in the detection of the following bacteria: Escherichia coli and KES [Klebsiella aerogenes, Klebsiella oxytoca, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae complex, and Serratia marcescens] that are non-susceptible to carbapenems.
√ Carbapenems, successfully used to treat multi-resistant Gram-negative bacterial infections, including ESBL positive strains, are not efficacious against the Enterobacteriaceae resistant to carbapenems, thus generating a significant risk of hospital-acquired infections.
